Contract Controller – Manufacturing Financial Statement Cleanup

Role Overview
Stardom Employment Consultants is seeking a hands-on Contract Controller for a manufacturing client that needs timely financial statement cleanup and stronger reporting accuracy. This project-based role will assess current records, resolve discrepancies, and deliver reliable financials to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and clean up balance sheet and income statement accounts, including reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Investigate and resolve historical discrepancies, misclassifications, and unreconciled balances.
- Validate inventory, work-in-process, cost of goods sold, and standard costing records.
- Review general ledger activity, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close procedures.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and clearly document adjustments.
- Identify gaps in accounting processes and recommend practical improvements.
- Coordinate with operations and finance staff to obtain records and confirm transaction details.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Several years of accounting or controllership experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Proven experience cleaning up financial statements and reconciling complex accounts.
- Working knowledge of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing operations.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP or accounting systems.
- Detail-oriented problem solver able to meet deadlines in a contract assignment.
- Clear communication skills and sound judgment when handling sensitive financial information.
