ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join a well-established client organization in the Fresno area. In this role, you will be responsible for processing employee payroll accurately and on schedule while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
- Verify timesheets, attendance records, and wage data for accuracy prior to processing
- Calculate and reconcile deductions including taxes, benefits, and garnishments
- Maintain and update employee payroll records in the HRIS or payroll system
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end close activities
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with W-2 preparation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting or Business preferred
- 1-3 years of payroll processing experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with payroll software such as ADP
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax withholding, and wage and hour laws
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
