About this role

Stardom Employment Consultants is partnering with a well-established organization in the Fresno area seeking a Credit Controller to join its accounting and finance team. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in credit management, accounts receivable, collections, and customer account reconciliation who enjoys taking ownership of the credit process and working closely with both customers and internal teams.

Professionals with experience as a Credit Controller, Group Credit Controller, Credit & Collections Specialist, Accounts Receivable Specialist, or similar are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the company's credit control and collections function
  • Manage credit exposure across a large and diverse customer portfolio
  • Establish, review, and approve customer credit limits and payment terms
  • Evaluate customer creditworthiness and identify potential financial risk
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging, DSO, overdue balances, and collection performance
  • Develop and implement credit policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Drive collection strategies focused on improving cash flow and reducing delinquent receivables
  • Review high-risk or high-value customer accounts and determine appropriate credit actions
  • Partner with sales and operational leadership to resolve complex customer and credit issues
  • Oversee customer account reconciliations, disputes, deductions, and payment discrepancies
  • Provide senior leadership with reporting and analysis related to credit exposure, aging trends, collections, and cash flow
  • Support forecasting and working-capital initiatives
  • Manage relationships with customers while balancing commercial objectives with financial risk
  • Lead, mentor, and develop credit and collections team members as applicable
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, reporting, and overall credit operations

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in credit management, credit control, accounts receivable, or collections leadership
  • Proven experience managing complex or high-value customer portfolios
  • Strong understanding of credit risk, financial analysis, collections strategy, and working capital
  • Experience developing and enforcing credit policies and procedures
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting capabilities
  • Advanced Excel and ERP/accounting system proficiency
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to partner effectively with senior leadership, sales, accounting, and operations
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
