Job Description:

As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing and managing the costs associated with our manufacturing processes. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring cost efficiency and supporting financial decision-making within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Analysis: Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and analyze inventory valuations, ensuring accurate costing and reporting of inventory levels.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain differences between budgeted and actual costs, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations of cost accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Cost Control: Develop and implement cost control procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements related to manufacturing costs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in cost accounting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
