Job Position: Accounting Manager
Salary: $105-115K (Salary may be negotiable based on skills and experience)
Job Summary: The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, including financial reporting, cost accounting, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulations. This role involves managing the preparation of financial statements, supervising the accounting team, and ensuring accurate tracking of production costs, inventory, and expenses. The Accounting Manager also works closely with other departments to provide financial insights, streamline processes, and maintain internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive collaboration across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
– Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
– Manage the tracking, analysis, and reporting of production costs, including raw materials, labor, overhead, and inventory. Develop cost allocation methods to ensure accurate cost control and profitability analysis.
– Lead the budgeting process, including cost projections, and provide accurate financial forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
– Establish and maintain strong internal controls to ensure financial integrity and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
– Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure high productivity and accuracy.
– Collaborate with operations and other departments to identify areas for cost improvement and recommend strategies for cost reduction while maintaining quality and efficiency.
– Oversee inventory accounting and valuation, ensuring accurate reporting of finished goods, work-in-progress, and raw materials.
– Ensure adherence to tax laws, accounting principles, and industry regulations. Coordinate with external auditors during audits and implement recommendations to improve financial operations.
– Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes, systems, and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
– Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators, financial trends, and areas for operational improvement.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
– CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred.
– Proven experience in accounting, with a strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
– Solid understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
– Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and regulations.
– Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
– Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor staff.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
– Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
– Experience with internal controls, audit coordination, and compliance management.
– Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
– Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
