Our client, a respected fourth-generation agricultural company with deep roots in the Central Valley, is seeking a Controller to lead financial operations and drive strategic growth in their Hanford location.
Position: Controller – Farming Operations
Location: Hanford, CA
Salary: Up to $170,000 base + bonus potential

About the Role
As Controller, you will oversee all financial aspects of the farming division, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. You’ll work closely with executive leadership to support decision-making and optimize operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for farming operations
Manage month-end and year-end close processes
Oversee cost accounting, inventory tracking, and crop profitability analysis
Ensure compliance with GAAP and agricultural industry regulations
Administer grower payment settlements and ensure timely, accurate disbursements
Maintain grower accounting records and reconcile grower accounts
Collaborate with operations and executive teams to align financial goals
Implement and maintain internal controls and financial systems
Prepare reports for lenders, auditors, and stakeholders
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
5+ years of experience in agriculture or manufacturing finance
Strong understanding of farming operations and seasonal cycles
Proven experience in grower payment settlements and grower accounting
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
