Job Summary: 

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations within the company. This role involves handling administrative tasks to ensure proper financial documentation, preparing financial statements, and confirming the accuracy of accounting database information. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and excellent analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and process invoices, ensuring accurate coding, appropriate approvals, and timely payment.
Prepare and manage financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
Reconcile AP/AR transactions and statements to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Assist in maintaining the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities.
Conduct audits to ensure financial operations are accurate and efficient.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning and decision-making.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and guidelines.
Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with federal and state payroll laws.
Handle tax-related tasks such as payroll processing, sales and property tax filings, and corporate and individual tax returns.
Monitor customer account details for non-payment, delayed payment, or other irregularities.
Investigate and resolve customer queries.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in agriculture industry.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
