Job Summary:
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing the company’s payroll accurately and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing: Accurately process payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and correct payment of wages, salaries, bonuses, and deductions.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including tax filings and reporting.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, timekeeping data, and payroll transactions.
Benefits Administration: Coordinate and manage employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
Issue Resolution: Address and resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
Reporting: Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management, including summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, and non-taxable wages.
Audits: Assist with internal and external payroll audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
System Maintenance: Maintain and update payroll systems and software to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Employee Support: Provide support and guidance to employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing or a related role in the agriculture industry.
Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification preferred.
Skills: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks).
Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
