Job Description: As a Corporate Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the organization, with a specific focus on the construction industry. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Reconciliation: Perform and oversee complex reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Manage the general ledger, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks.
- Audit Support: Coordinate and support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
- Construction Accounting: Manage job costing, project accounting, and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, ensuring accurate tracking of project costs and revenues.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. - Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of GAAP and construction accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
