Job Title: Controller
Pay: $120-135K
Location: Fresno, Ca
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire accounting department, ensuring all financial activities are recorded accurately and in compliance with company policies, regulations, and accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
- Manage the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and reflective of the company’s financial position.
- Supervise the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded properly and deadlines are met.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets, ensure accuracy of financial reporting, and prevent fraud.
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, providing financial analysis and guidance to management.
- Prepare and review reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Coordinate and manage the external audit process, providing necessary documentation and working with auditors to ensure timely and successful audits.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations, including sales tax, income tax, and other applicable tax filings, and work with tax professionals for compliance and planning.
- Implement and enforce accounting policies and procedures to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Oversee cash management, monitoring cash flow and ensuring that the company has sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting team members, overseeing their professional development and performance.
- Work closely with senior management to provide strategic financial advice, improve financial performance, and support key business decisions.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, offering recommendations for improvements to profitability, efficiency, and cost controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS) and financial reporting.
- Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic financial planning.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to lead a diverse accounting team and foster a collaborative environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Experience with internal controls, compliance, and financial audits.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and effectively to senior management and other departments.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
