Job Summary:

The Assistant Controller will support the Controller in managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the development and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including preparation and filing of tax returns.
Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role in an agriculture or manufacturing industry.
Certifications: CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Leadership and team management skills.
